I was told that I could use Samba to configure wireless printing from my PC to my Mac or vis versa.
Is this true?
SAMBA is an open-source implementation of Windows SMB file-sharing for OSX. It lets Windows machines connect to a Mac and share files. To "implement" it, you have to do two things. First, go to the "Sharing" icon in the System Preferences and turn on "Windows File Sharing". That enables SAMBA. Second, go to the "Accounts" icon, select your login, choose "Edit Account", then enable the checkbox that says "Allow this user to log in from Windows".
You're all set to go. On the Windowns machine, open an Windows explorer (assuming Windows 2000 or XP, if older the process is different) and type in \\MACIP\ replacing MACIP with the IP address of your Mac.
That's it!
