Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1 G5 Processor Plug-in update for Mac OS X

This plug-in update is designed to optimize Adobe® Photoshop® 7.0.1 for use with the Apple Power Macintosh G5 processor. It makes the following changes to an existing Photoshop 7.0.1 installation:
• Modifies many Photoshop operations to fully utilize the G5 processor capabilities
• Replaces the Adobe Color Engine component (ACECarbonLib) with a new version that is designed for the G5 processor

System requirements
• Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1 for Mac OS X
• Power Macintosh G5 computer

Installation instructions
Need help with downloading? See our Downloading Help documents.
To install the G5 processor plug-in update:
1. Quit Photoshop.
2. Double-click the installer file "Photoshop 7.0.1 G5 Update."
3. Follow the instructions in the installer.

This installer will function only on a Power Macintosh G5 system. Note that you may install and use Photoshop 7.0.1 software only as permitted by the software license agreement included with that product. In order to transfer your Photoshop 7 license to a G5 system from another system, you must uninstall your copy of Photoshop 7 from the other system.

The version of the AltiVecCore plug-in that is installed by this installer will function only with Photoshop 7.0.1. It will not function with Photoshop 7.0. The installer will search for a valid copy of Photoshop 7.0.1, and if it does not find it, nothing will be installed.

If you own Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and need the update to 7.0.1, visit the Adobe Web site. From the home page, choose your country for the correct language, and click the Support>Downloads link.

Additional notes
This installer updates two files:
• The AltiVecCore plug-in is updated to version 7.0.3.
• The Adobe Color Engine (ACECarbonLib) is updated.

If you reinstall Adobe Photoshop after you have installed this update, you will need to run this installer again.

Adobe tested the AltiVecCore plug-ins for compatibility only with Apple Power Macintosh computers and cannot guarantee compatibility with third-party upgrade cards.

Now if only someone had a G5, and could tell me if it really does improve performance that much.
