Apple has seemingly changed its "Music" tab to "iTunes". I suspect this may have something to do with the problems between Apple Computer and Apple Records, the Beatles' record company. The Beatles may soon be making an appearance on the iTunes Music Store.

It just means that iTunes Windows will be released soon.
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

Nothing it appears....all the references to AppleMusic.com are gone along with the TV ads. AppleMusic.com just brings you to iTunes 4 now.

Didn't there used to be a web link to a iTMS front page? All they have now is an iTunes 'instructions' type page.

the legal issues between apple computer and apple music is the fact that Apple Computer is in the music business now.. changing the graphics from "music" to "itunes" doesn't change the fact that they are still in the music business, and therefore their potential legal problems.. Also, i don't think we'll be seeing any beatles music near any online service anytime soon, unless a complete 180 turn has happened over the pond.. I'm pretty sure that this is so that windows users can easily find where to download itunes when they go to Apple.com. I expect that they will release windows version soon, should be exciting times.. i just hope that the iTMS's xServers can keep up with the jump in demand..

I don't think you will have to worry about that. As Jobs said, if Apple knows one thing, its how to serve content.

And remember how the servers all crashed the first day ITMS was on the Mac?

They had a few glitches (as can be expected)...but they didn't all crash.

I wouldn't be surprised if the change had something to do with the marketing strategy of BuyMusic.com. Think about it, the Gibson is gone, the commericals are gone...yeah.

It must have just been the servers being overwhelmed by people connecting. Think about it, almost everyone who watched the keynote and got iTunes 4 all tried to connect to the same site at once. It's like the Slashdot effect, only in an armored vehicle, going 150MPH on the wrong side of the highway, being chased by fighter jets, during a nuclear war, during a volcanic eruption.

Yea...

ya, i don't remember exactly what happened.. all i know is that it wasn't flawless.. But what do you expect when every mac fan connects at the same time... the same thing happened when downloading safari for the first time... but the pc market is so huge. i imagine that there will be a small percentage of pc users who will download and connect at the same time, and even if it is a small chunk of pc users, it could easily be much larger than the # of mac users who connected after the initial launch.. I'm sure they know this, and have beefed up the servers..

it's prolly because of the lawsuit with Apple Music (the beatles' label)...

they're just trying to avoid legal troubles, obviously.

guess they're not completley done with the switch of the tab. if you go to apple.com and clicck on either the Store or .Mac tab, they still show Music....but im sure that will be switched

Has anyone heard anything about iTMS coming to Canada (where I'm living now) or Japan (where I'll be moving in a month)?

Nope. I'd like to see support for AU too. As I'm sure the rest of Apple's international users would like to see it come to their country. For now we must wait... or get a credit card with a US billing address .
