I just saw this program at the apple store. What I realized is that i very rarely look at software.... which is sad.

when i was little i used to look at all the cool programs, but now i don't. I just buy a new computer every couple of years and use the same programs.

Anyway, say Sticky Brain and looked like fun.

any other cool programs out there that i may have missed to make my life easier?

I know about the Microsoft, Apple, and Abobe software, I'm talking about hidden gems.

take care,
matt

What are you interested in? YOu should definitely stop by MacUpdate or VersionTracker. That's where most of us find out when the newest and latest softwares are. these are among my favorites, some are freeware while others are sharewares:

CandyBar
ThemeChanger
CheckBook
LaunchBar
VLC
Pac the Man
WordNet
WeatherPop
wClock

I moved to StickyBrain after I lost all my Stickies for the 3rd time. Haven't lost any since. That was from rev1 of OSX. Maybe Stickies have become more stable now.

Also, I couldn't get along without LaunchBar. You have to try that.

StickyBrain has always seemed too convoluted, too many palettes for what should be a simple post-it metaphor has turned into a mini photoshop and 40 bucks is alotta cash for a stickies replacement.

Chronos software has IMHO got it all wrong just look at 'F10 Launch Studio' - that's 30 bucks down the drain - if you were fool enough to purchase it.

Maybe try a $250 film'ic notebook :

I'm in the market for something like StickyBrain as well and found this overview interesting, and this too.
Aquaminds' NoteTaker looks gorgeous, and DEVONthink is very interesting as well.

Happy testing

when i install some of these shareware programs.. it puts on a harddrive icon on my desktop that I can open and use the program... but do I have to keep that on my desktop to keep that program?

How come it doesn't install a folder so I can keep my program in there?

You can drag the icon to your Applications folder.
