Hi,
now that my wife has her own powerbook we have two books that need to have the same contacts details. Is there a way to sync two machines the way you sync a pda or ipod.
I'd want the most recent change to be the one that takes priority, this way either of us can make changes individually and then sync them together when we're at home.
We have a wireless network in the house, so wondered if it was possible to do this automatically via rendezvous connection.
Cheers,
J.

You can do it if you have a .Mac account with iSync.

Would we both need a .mac account?
We maintain separate accounts and don't use .mac, although my wife still has the 3month trial of .mac as she's only just bought her powerbook.
I was hoping for something a little less involved. If you can sync other devices, why not sync two computers.
Thanks,
J.

No, you'd only use one .Mac account that you'd share between the both of you.
That is probably the least involved method since it is supported by Apple in their apps. Other methods would have to hack around to get the job done.

I sync my desktop and my wifes powerbook (which I occasionally use to surf from the couch) via iSync and .mac - and it works great, seamless.
If you have a .mac account - I'd recommend doing it this way. Sharing data between multiple macs is one of the best aspects of .mac in my opinion.

Thanks for the help. We're not going to keep the .mac account. Having broadband, my own domain and servers, I can't justify $99 a year just to sync our address books. I was hoping for something a little simpler.
Shame but thanks anyway.

I'm also in the same boat
I have my own server, etc. etc. but I can't justify the $$$ just to sync my address book and bookmarks.
