Hello all. I have an old iMac with OS 9.1 and for a word processor I only have Appleworks 5. I was trying to print my resume like I did in the old days, just saving it as an Appleworks document. But nowadays the printer place I go to has only 2 macs and only one has a word processor which is MS Word. I was told to print I have to bring in a Word 6.0 file. The old MacLinksPlus software I have seems not to be able to save in Word 6.0. I downloaded Nisus Writer demo because I had heard it saves in Word, but found out only up to 4.0. I tried to study this subject in the forum but seem to get more confused. Should I buy Applewords 6 which I think comes with new MacLinkPlus stuff or buy the new version of MacLinks? I have read in the forums that niether of these work very well. I don't have alot of cash rolling around right now and don't want to buy MS Word. Thanks for any advice.

My version of Appleworks 6 shows Word 6 docs in the save as... dialog. I can't vouch for how well it formats them, though.

Print the document to postscript. Then just send that file to the printer. The people at your printshop should know how to do that.

Another alternative is to save as "RTF". The Rich Text Format is readable on everything from Word 4 to AppleWorks to Word XP.

Exactly. I assumed that if he didn't have Word, he also didn't have Acrobat.
