Hi, is the new DVD Studio Pro 2 out CD or DVD? FCP came out on 4 DVD + 1 CD. What about Studio Pro? Need to know format and quantity for current system. Thanks.

just out of curiosity, why would you want DVD Studio Pro if you didn't have a drive that could even read DVDs?

Good question. I don't want to invest in a new DVD drive, not when I'm going to get a G5 when they're out. It's so, I can get a head start on learning the software...

quote from the system requirements:

System Requirements

Macintosh computer with a 733 MHz or faster PowerPC processor (G4 minimum) and AGP graphics card

8MB of video memory (32MB recommended)

Mac OS X v10.2.6

QuickTime 6.3

256MB of RAM (512MB recommended)

20GB of available disk space

DVD drive required for installation
so, to answer your question, yes, you need a DVD drive. even if you didn't, would you want to install a 20 GB program that came on CDs?

To confirm what's already been said:
I installed DVDSP 2.0 on Friday, and it comes on DVD only.
