See here. Safari wins.
I like Safari and actually it's the one I use most often, but if I had to choose just one browser, it'd be Camino, mainly because Safari still chokes on some websites I use that Camino handles just fine. Maybe Safari 1.1 will change my mind though.
My GF still likes IE the best actually. It's not screamingly fast, but on my GHz TiBook it's fast enough for her, and she doesn't have to worry about compatibility issues with Safari. I don't think she likes some of funky font sizes that Camino uses with certain sites.
Thus, right now I keep Safari, Camino, and IE all in my dock.

That was a well-written review. Man, I always knew there were alot of browsers, but I never stopped to count that there were 9! I agreed with the authors assessments of the current state and performance of the browsers for OSX. Yup, like you and many others, Safari is my main browser. It just "feels right" on my PowerBook. And since I use themes, like Max Rudberg's Aqua Extreme, I don't ever see the brushed metal of Safari.
I liked using Camino, but it was crash-prone. So I ditched it. I came back to it a few weeks ago, and it was still crashing. I guess I got tired of restarting it.
My BIGGEST hope is for OmniWeb 5.0, with tabs or something tab-like. I just absolutely love the way OW looks, the way it renders pages, and the overall web surfing experience. Come on Rickster, OW fans are rooting for you guys!

Somehow I have bad feeling about Opera. What they bring us in version 7 will really tell us if they are taking our platform serious or not.

if I had to choose a browser it would be Firebird ... by far the one I liked the most, if it only where more polished.

I found it interesting that their more "professional" testing indicated the same difference in speed between OW 4.5 and Safari on my old computer.
When I posted my informal stop watch tests loading websites I got ripped a new one despite the results showing the same thing, OW is about half the speed at rendering.
Looks like my testing wasn't completely worthless afterall
I still love it though (using it now) and am looking forward to 5.0
