Hi, I do alot of work with editors and writers who receive images in their emails to use in articles. The problem is they have no way of telling if the size and rez are good for print.

Does anyone know of a little utility they can run the graphic file thru and that will feedback to them the measurements of the image at 300dpi? They can then either ask for a larger image or feed the file on to me.

It's to difficult to explain to them how to determine the size and they often have no software to aid them in this ... and forget trying to get clients to adhere to file submission rules :-)

HELP! AppleScript?

Hmm..not exactly sure I understand your question. Do they just need to see what resolution and size (in inches, or picas) an image is? If so, something like GraphicConverter should work just fine. Assuming they are on a Mac. check Versiontracker for that.

I was thinking of something uncomplicated and dumby proof.

Take the image(s) drop them on an app and a message comes up showing what the image size would be (inches, picas) if adjusted to 300dpi

Sorry, I don't know of anything like that. But it sounds like it would be useful. If you happen to run across something like that, please let us know.
