Odd Mozilla bookmarks behaviour

I installed the new Mozilla 1.5b and I'm very impressed with the speed and overall features. I imported my Safari bookmarks (with iGo) and I get a very odd behaviour: all the bookmarked "simple" addresses in the www.xxx.com format work flawlessly. If the bookmarked address is in a more complicated format, Mozilla shows an error message "the address could not be found. please check the name and try again".
In fact more than half of my bookmarks doesn't work.
Does anybody know what could be the cause?
