Well I have one, I would need to buy a faster computer in order to run it....

But FCP 3 works great with my ibook, wondering if there is a real reason to rush off and get FCP 4?

I usually just edit my own short films and feature length films of other people.

So Soundtrack might be cool.

Just wondering if FCP 4 works well yet, or you really need a G5 to get it to work well.

I'd like to hear FCP 3 is still good. I know it is and that if it works for me no reason, but I don't want to be left behind. At the same time, I dont' want to spend 3000 dollars to be able to use it, when it won't be any different.

FCP 4 is an awesome upgrade. It's really stable and fast, even on my G4/400. FCP3 always reeked of carbon port to me for some reason.

Oops, reasons NOT to upgrade.. umm.. it costs money? The add on apps like compressor have ugly GUIs?

Dude, if you've looked at all the FCP 4 specs and nothing makes you want to run out and get it right now, then no. It's all about what works for each person.

Personally, I could conceivably save up to get the upgrade to 4, but 3 is really fine for the level of editing that I'm into. 4 is definitely aimed at the true pros. So for the time being, I'm sticking with 3.
