A basic wysiwyg web page creation app for Dummies. That's all I want. For my Mother.
I do not want DreamWeaver.
It doesn't exist, does it?

Or, for free, something that uses WebCore for live preview within its app: HyperEdit.

Your mother will be happy with the Composer module of Netscape/Mozilla. It's a simple but fairly complete WYSIWYG editor for beginners.

No, please! Word is evil--it generates loads of crap all over your HTML (it actually thinks it's doing XML, but...). Mozilla Composer is probably your best bet.

I was all set to try out Freeway Express (the other is a bit expensive), but I noticed it saves in a proprietary format. You can't use other tools with it at the same time.
Might be fine for booboo's mom though.

The poster is talking about Claris HomePage, which was a great product for anyone to create a web site.

Too big an app, too complicated. This is web-page layout in the XPress vein....

I'm thinking this too. It's just a shame it's so un-Mac like...
Meanwhile I'm looking at Kuebsite, trying to figure out what it thinks it's on.
Thank you all for your replies.

Freeway Express costs only $89. It's as easy to use as Homepage and much more powerful. You can also get a 30-day trial.
