Hi,
I went to address a new mail and when I typed "m" into the address field all the proper names from my address book came up but also this one "me.clone@aol.com". I cannot find it in the address book. Where and how could this address show up. I know of no one with that address and have never corresponded with anyone with that address. Is it possible for someone to have sent me spam that added itself invisibly to the database via applescript, PERL etc (thus bypassing my spam filter settings of checking the address book first)? I am going to read the database with something else right now but this is creeping me out a little. Thanks,

All email addresses you receive Mail from are added to your Address History in Mail. It's nothing to worry about, it's not going to bite you and your Mac is just fine.

Just clear the address history in Mail. It's under the Window menu.

That is a good tip, and most likely typically overlooked, I should have thought of that, seeing as I am getting a couple hundred spams a day I should do it fairly often.

Actually I thought it was just emails you sent out/replied to....

Yep, it seems that only addresses that you've replied or send to are included in de address history...
