For those who updated Microsoft Office to version 10.1.5 today, have you noticed that the suite launches much, much faster now? It used to take ages for the individual apps to open, but now they seem to open much faster.
Placebo effect? False? True?
Just wondering.
Thanks...

Great! I hope this solves the issues with PowerPoint. Sometimes after using Keynote, PowerPoint gets flaky. Dunno why.

It is definitely much faster launching here. Haven't ran it long enough to see if performance has improved in general.

For some reason I find this really funny.

Yeah, to me too. I dunno if it's just a coincidence or what.
Anyways, I hope X.1.5 corrects PowerPoint's flakiness, whatever the cause.

Word, I know, for example launches in less then half the time it used to! MS must have done something right this time...but who knows. Haven't tried Excel yet.

Rather than start a new thread, let me sneak in here ...
I can't get 10.1.5 to install. It contnues to hang, reading:
Items remaining to be installed: 9
Installing: Microsoft Excel
Then it terminates with an "unexpected error" 84368.
I know that I'm updated to 10.1.4. Anybody got a line on this?

I tried to install it and it told me I had to have the Entourage update (10.1.4). I didn't bother installing this one because I didn't install Entourage. Now I'm getting the 10.1.4 (26Mb) update and I'll see if that will install without Entourage installed... I will be disappointed if it won't.

I think the Entourage update included minor updates for the other apps. I installed that and have installed the 10.1.5 update, without Entourage installed, without any problems.

Believe it or not, I found Panther's textedit enough for my work. Just turn on the wrap to page, and there you go, fully useful text editor. Only thing I can think of that doesn't work yet is image wrapping. Actually I'm not even sure about that, haven't tried it yet.

I too notice a great improvement in launch time. For that alone this is a good update.

I just updated my version of Office 10.1.4 to 10.1.5. When I select 'get info' on Excel and PowerPoint I see that their versions read 10.1.5 (030814). However, Entourage and Word both read 10.1.4 (030701).
Has anyone else noticed this? What's up?
Thanks.
Michael

Sure, if you took a look at what the actual update does, you would have found the following (from MacUpdate)...
"Microsoft Office v.X Updater 10.1.5 addresses several stability issues with PowerPoint®, Excel, and Visual Basic for Applications for Office v. X."
