Has anyone tried it? Apples requirements state thtat you need OSX Server - but as you can use Jaguar to serve a lot of other things I thought maybe, maybe...

Quicktime Streaming Server is bundled with OS X Server. You can download the Darwin Streaming Server, which is the same thing, to OS X client and other OSs too.
