I'm looking for a good multimedia encyclopedia (preferably DVD, but multiple CDs okay). From a quick look on eBay, there are varying degrees of Mac compatibility for some of the features. So I'd like opinions from people that are using them. Thanks.
I do not like those green links and spam.

I wonder if the 2004 GUI for Britannica has been improved. That has really been the only thing holding it back, it has a very clunky interface.

I completely agree. The interface needs much improving both in appearance and usability. In my experience, however, Britannica is the most comprehensive encyclopedia. Supposedly the new 2004 edition has an updated interface, but I haven't seen proof of this yet. So you know, the application runs in a java environment. The speed is acceptable on my machine.

I just sent in my suggestion for improving the interface to Britannica at the following link http://forms01.britannica.com/help/techsupportform.html

Britannica 2004 won't install on my Panther machine. The installer launches, then quits. Any ideas?

Britannica 2004 Standard Edition is an improvement over my 2003 Deluxe Edition. The interface is improved and much quicker. I was surprised with the enhancement. I received the 2004 Standard Edition with my TurboTax Home & Business Edition order. Nice bonus. I can honestly say Britannica's current product is worthwhile. Not the best Mac program, but worthy of buying if you need an encyclopaedia.

There's also World Book. It's available on the Apple Store.
