True, some people refused to use OmniWeb because of some bugs they encountered with sneaky peeks. Not a good thing.
BTW, I like your sig, gorickey

I was close, I thought the body would have read, "When is it coming out?" but "I kid...I kid." is equally worthless.

It's sad how hyped up MacNNer's are about Omniweb 5. That, and Mirai.

I agree. What does it have that Safari doesn't. Plus, Safari has been much faster than OW for me.

Well, I don't know what OW5 has, but here are some of the things that OW 4.5 has that Safari doesn't:
1. Toolbar keywords
2. Type-ahead, which provides really nice and easy keyboard navigation of web pages
3. Spell checker that actually stays on and is therefore usable
4. Real Cocoa toolbar that follows the standard interface rather than some awful Netscape 3 toolbar that makes you add and remove items using the View menu with no way to reorder them
5. Contextual menus that actually have more than 2 items in them
6. Bookmarks drawer that doesn't take over your entire browser window
7. HTML source editor
8. Pop-up blocking that lets you block only pop-ups that weren't brought up by clicking on a link, instead of just blindly blocking all popups
9. The ability to pose as IE/Windows without having to activate the Debug menu
10. Ad blocking that can either block all ads or only specific ones like the painfully irritating "If this ad is flashing, you've WON a free headache!!" ads
11. MANY more options in Preferences
12. Removable text windows
13. Heck, OW even has voice navigation!
Now, take that mass of features, and add the ones that I probably forgot to mention, and then add all the new features that OW 5 will surely provide, and... Safari looks pretty basic IMHO.
[edit: I forgot a biggie:
14. The ability to save one window position and have it save and consequently always use that same position for a new window if there's not already one open. This way, if you happen to resize a window to make it really big or really small for some specialized reason, it doesn't mean that next time you start the browser up, it will use that same window position when you just wanted to do some normal Web browsing. This is very handy in my experience.]
[15. Ability to Undo in text fields]
[edit: how did I forget:
16. Auto-updating bookmarks (thanks MrBS)]

While I like OW, Safari doesn't blindly block all pop-ups. Clicking on a pop-up with blocking on works fine.

3. Safari's Spell check stays on just fine.
4. I think Safari looks just fine. It may not be as standard but it functions perfectly.
5. Safari DOES need some more options in there, especially a "Save Image To..."
6. Some people like this. ^^ It's growing on me.
8. Safari does the same.
14. That's one great feature that OW has...WHY do no other browsers understand this? I love that feature.
The rest, though, aren't enough to get me to stop using Safari anytime soon. It's fast and stable, and has tabs (plus, I've had bad luck with OW - it just never worked very well with the sites that I frequently visit, and didn't look as good).

1 and 2 put OW so far ahead of other browsers it's not even a contest for me.
and 7's a very nice addition, to be able to take a look at a page source, make a couple changes, and then take a look at the edited page is handy.
And all the others are great too, except for 6, I never even open the bookmark window/drawer unless I want to set one of my bookmarks to check for updates... (another killer feature I don't see on the list). With the type-ahead it's way easier to type out the first couple letters of the subdomain, the domain, any level of the uri, the title of the page... anyway an apple-l and 2 or 3 letters has the site I want out of my bookmarks or out of my histroy before I can even get my mouse to a bookmark drop down.
Nice list! (but I'd add the 'check for updates' feature, that saves so much time if you want to keep tabs on a band or an author or a website that has sporadic updates)

Not sure if what you mean by this are OW's "shortcuts" but this is HUGE for those that have figured out how to use them properly. Safari has a google search thing built in - some people think this is amazing. Well OW has google built in, as well as pretty much any other search engine you want.
e.g.
I type "find applescript DVD player" in the address field and it does a google/yahoo search for those three terms.
I type "imdb twin peaks" in the address field and I get the results of an IMDB search for twin peaks
I type "vt Omniweb" and I get VersionTracker's OmniWeb page.
I type "nyc chez ma tante" and I get the Citysearch page on new york's Chez Ma Tante restaurant.
you get the idea. And they're pretty easy to create for almost any site that includes a search engine. Yes, some of this functionality has been imitated by javascript bookmarks and whatnot, but those are far less elegant (and far more difficult for the java-illiterate) to put together.

Yes, I meant shortcuts. I was using Mozilla's terminology by mistake, sorry. Yes, it is very useful. My very favorite shortcut, though, is this:
mw@ http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?%@
Any time I see a word on the Internet that I'd like to look up the definition for, I just type 'mw word' and it looks it up.
Add this to type-ahead find and you have two features that it is really difficult for me to live without.
