yeah.. what the subject says.

since i installed the latest quicktime update i can't play any mpeg-2 files.

i re-installed the mpeg-2 playback component, too, and it still won't play them.

any ideas?

To be compatible with QuickTime 6.3, the MPEG-2 Playback Component (version 6.0) also needs to be updated.

thanks uncle, this is what i was looking for.. but is there any way to get the upgrade without having to pay out again for it?

when i ran the quicktime 6.3 updater i assumed it would have included this mpeg-2 playback upgrade too, seeing as i already paid for it originally...

no reason it would. QT and the MPEG decoder are different pieces of software. If you can't figure it out, call Apple and ask them how to update the MPEG2 decoder
