First let me say that I can take no credit for this solution to my problem. The kudos must go to Christopher Breen and his little pamphlet "Mac OSX Tips and Unix Tricks" published by Macworld magazine as a give away with one of their issues.
For those of you reading this who have not followed the original string I remove my copy of World Book from my hard drive and could not find a way of reinstalling short of wiping my HD and starting a fresh.
I'm starting this string because what I found out from Chris's book will be of interest to anyone else, like myself, who inadvertantly deletes an app. that came with their OSX software and needs it back.
Here is what you do and I quote from Chris's work:
"Clear 2GB of hard disk space and create a new folder. Into this folder, copy the disk-image files (these may be in a Configurations folder) from each of the Sofeware Restore discs that came with you Mac. Launch Disk Copy . . ." Disc Copy is in your <hard drive<Applications<Utilies folder. ". . . and drag the first disk-image file into the Disk Copy window. A disk image will appear on your desktop; this contains the sofeware that originally shipped with you Mac." This takes some time and but copying one file copied them all. The image I got of called Mac HD. "To install an app. just drag it from the disk image to your hard drive."
This worked a treat and I reckon its a handy trick to know.
