Go up to the top menu level,

then:

Einstellungen (Settings) >

Sprache (Language) >

English

That's it.

The menu positions are identical regardless of language.

In addition, this happened to somebody I don't really know. She said the manual gave instructions on what to do. I know that's vague but it should help in case it changes to a new language again.

Yes the manual tells you how to do it simply by which number in the list it is.

Ah well... No "Press the Play Button while touching the scroll pad counterclockwise for 5 seconds"? I'm going to be getting my first iPod soon though

Ah, this thread makes me remember the days I used to put my friend's cell phone into random languages when he wasn't looking. And of course the language setting is several menus deep, and I never remembered the order...

Oh, the nostalgia!

PS. I love the iPod's multilingual capabilities! That's another solid advantage it has over other music players.
