I hate to bump a thread this old but I would like and answer as well. I have .mp3 file playing in the background but I want it to span over 3 slides. Is there any way of doing this?

There is no way to do this in Keynote itself.

Submit Keynote feedback

You'd have to have the MP3 playing in the background, or if this is possible, link an AppleScript to the slides you need as triggers to start/stop the music playback, etc...

Thanks for the link, I went ahead and submitted some feedback. I'll give your AppleScript suggestion a try.

You can also export the work as a Quicktime movie and then if you have QT Pro, you can ADD (under edit menu) a music track, that worked for me!!
