A friend of mine is trying to get a custom icon on a CD he's burning with Toast. And neither of us can seem to find a way to do this. Is this possible? Any help would be appreciated!

IIRC, make a disc image of the CD in question and then paste the custom icon on that image and burn the CD from there. You should end up with a custom icon on the CD...

And yes, after a quick run thru of the procedure (yes, I'm procrastinating that much), that's exactly what you do.

And this is using Toast? Make an image through Toast (5.x) and paste the icon onto that image? Or do we make an image using Disk Copy and burn from there?

Thanks for the info!

Well, we couldn't get the disk image deal to work. But we did manage to get it to work by mounting the blank CD in the Finder using OS X's disc burning. Then we pasted the icon onto the CD that was mounted, copied the files over and burned the CD.

Again, thanks for the info.

a data cd?
u could:
make a folder on the desktop (or wherever), paste an icon on it, name it.

drag that to toast, then drag your files to this folder in toast & voila!

(be sure to set the finder view options to:
show icon preview to SEE your handiwork)

Sorry, I used Disk Copy in mine. Not sure why you couldn't do it.

Although I did forget to mention that you have to mount the disk image and paste the customer icon onto the mounted disk image. Sorry about that oversight...
