I just installed the new verion of stuffit deluxe. I rebooted my computer and thought everything was fine. But, then i was wondering about some of the custom install stuff that i selected. So i attempted to re-open the Stuffit Deluxe installer but it no longer opens.

i tried opening this installer on two different computers and i got the same result.

anyone else find this to be true?

I had to install Stuffit Deluxe 8 on the same iMac twice over the past week or so (long story, don't ask), and I did not have any problem.

Ever since I installed Stuffit Deluxe 8 I have had a different problem. All my existing programs work, but any new app that gets unstuffed will not launch. Somehow, during the unstuffing process the execute permissions are removed from the program so it won't launch. It's a trivial matter to change the file permissions manually, but it really shouldn't be happening. Anybody else experiencing this???

Hi,

Yes, many stuffed apps are affected by this removal of executable bits. I was wondering why some new apps unstuffed and could not even run e.g. dvd2onex

Its a real PITA
