go to the site and find out. Offers you can claim will be on the front page or in the accounts or renew section.

use the 20 bucks off to buy a box of .mac at the apple store and use that to renew.
or you could go to megamacs.com get .mac for 80 bucks.
that's what i did, thanks to some other members recommendation.

If you use the 60 day free trial of .mac, after that expires, can you purchase the one from megamacs and extend the account?

Many other webhosters will offer you more webspace/e-mail addresses for way less. No antivirus package though.

That won't work. You won't get the 20 dollars off for 3-4 weeks after you select it. By that time, your account will probably have expired by then. And it also won't work since you actually have to renew your .mac account before you get the bonus

3-4 weeks AFTER you select it?? are you sure it isn't available immediately??
cause i haven't renewed yet (waiting for my .mac box from megamacs), and i still have the option for 20 bucks off. so i'm guessing if i select it, i will have 20 bucks off right away. no?

Nope. Each item you choose will take 3-4 WEEKS to be delivered. I accidentally picked the 20 dollar discount instead of Everquest, and that's what it said. I was somewhat suprised as well

Hmmm... Will I still be able to use the $20 discount for Panther later on?

My reward hasn't changed to everquest yet under my .mac account...and I quote
"Your special offer of US$20.00 Coupon for the online Apple Store will ship 4-6 weeks after your renewal date of October 09, 2003 PDT." So I was wrong on the time...4-6 weeks.
There were quite a few things in the EULA for this discount. It can ONLY be used in the Apple online store for hardware or software use. No itunes store, no B&W store, no refurbished items, etc. But yeah, I didn't see anything in there about not being able to use it for Panther, so you should be ok.

megamacs.com's checkout process is indicating a $35.91 US extra shipping because I'm located in toronto... so much for that idea.

its personal preference.. i dont think you should need anyone ELSE to tell you if its worth it or not. If you have to ask, then it might not be for you...

Has anyone switched screen names when renewing .Mac? Is this even permitted?

I had decided to not renew my .Mac account (lack of funds) and I turned off auto-renew. To my surprise they charged me anyway. I found out when I got the thank you email. Now I have to call them and try and get my money back. I may ask them for the educational price since I bought my eMac last June and they had a special rate of $69 if you bought a Mac this year. Otherwise I will have to dump it.
I wish they had a monthly plan.
