iMac LCD 15" Superdrive, 10.2.6, Safari 1.0 (v85).
If I leave Safari running (ie I do not quit) and my system sleeps typically overnight then sometimes, any use of Safari the next day is screwed. This happens even if Safari is left with no open windows, docked windows, open windows... This is an home system and no one uses it between OS sleeping and the next use of Safari.
OK what do I mean by screwed....
Any click on any hyperlink results in a new Safari window opening BEHIND the current Safari window (in a kind of stacked offset tile arrangement). If I close the front window to look at the 2nd BOTH windows close, if I minimize the front window BOTH minimize!! If I try opening a link in a new tab from the 2nd window, the tab appears in the 1st!!
I can move the front window out of the way to see the new page but any new hyperlink-click goes to yet another window this time behind the 2nd window and so on. This is driving me nuts. I am only doing a left-mouse click here.
Quitting Safari does not fix it either. The only fix seems to be to log out of that user and log back in again or a restart. Does anyone have advice? I have repaired permissions and deleted all Safari prefs which seems to fix it sometimes but a few days later the link-click-new-hidden-window bug bites again. Actually is there a better name for this?
