1. When screen effects is running it has a number in the upper right hand corner. What is this?
2. Is there a way to make the song title and album art display constantly while the song is playing instead of just for a few seconds?

Assuming that you are using the default iTunes visualiser, that number is the fps (frames per second). You can toggle it on and off using the T key when the visualiser is on.
Press ? to view more keyboard shortcuts for the visualiser when it is running. To display the song name etc, press the I key for instance.

The "?" would give you this info too, but frame rate display is toggled by "F".
To keep the song title displayed continuously, while the visualizer is running and not in fullscreen mode, click the "Options" gear button in the upper-right corner of the iTunes window and check "Always display song info".

Then I wonder why you didn't consult the iTunes Help. That information is available there.

Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

Oh No! iTunes has a help menu? I will have to make another post to ask where to find the iTunes help munu.
Thanks again SomeToast for helping me out.
Developer I did check the iTunes help first but did not notice that information. Thank goodness for a wonderful site like Macnn where users don't mind helping other Mac users.
