What's the most popular program that displays the current playing song in iTunes including album coverart ? Is there a good free one ?

If iTunes' built-in song displays aren't good enough, go to www.versiontracker.com/macosx and search for "iTunes display" for several options to see what you like the best.

PTHiTunesNotifier is free, but does not show cover art.

It's free, it shows you what is playing, but that's not the interesting part...

I use an app called playalong. It sits it the dock and looks up the currently playing song on amazon and displays the currently playing song's album cover in the dock. You can also make it a transparent floating windows with song title, etc. It hasn't been updated in a while but it works and is free.
