Hi,

it seems that "out of the blue" MPlayer OS X 2 no longer functions on my Mac. I'm running 10.2.8 on a DP 1.25 and 2GB RAM. It worked fine two days ago and now when I try to open an .avi, the player controls open, I can see the movie title in the controller but the player window just never opens on screen. The dock icon for the window pulses for about 10 seconds or so and then stops. The movie never plays.

I've reinstalled MPlayer OSX 2, upgraded to 2.0b5 and still no go. The last version 2.0b4 was the one that worked two days ago and stopped.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Yup, MPlayerX doesn't work for me anymore, either. Dies part way through launching.

It's more stable and has more options.

I use that one as well. It will sometimes crash when viewing certain files. I found that older versions were more stable.

I still want my MPlayer back...
