Just downloaded the new version of Poisoned. I haven't been keeping up with it, and I was happy to see that not only is the program faster overall, but they've even added iTMS integration so you can buy a song (if it's available) after you, uh, try it out.

[BTW, I decided to start a new thread since the last one erupted into a flame war about piracy. Let's try and play nice, children (Mods, if we don't do threads about p2p apps any more then I'll understand if this puppy gets locked).]

Although Poisoned is becoming more feature complete, it's gone about 10 steps backwards reliability wise - if you go to the 'official' forums you'll see people are having no end of problems connecting. I've found it has to be left much longer before connecting to the servers.

On the other hand, Acquisition's meta data browser has been seriously beefed up recently - you can search iTMS, Amazon and have similar artists suggested when you do a search.

Acqlite 0.2 has been released this morning - which started as a free 're-release' of Acquisition but which has now made some improvements of its own

I've been using Poisoned for a couple of months (used to use Acquision) however today I switched to mlMac. The addition of SoulSeek was my main reason for changing.

I've found that using poison and mlmac results in my firewall being hammered. Too many non-standard return port ranges. It also consistently makes me lose airport connectivity, which is only remedied by a restart.

They are ok for finding files, I've found... though alot of the downloads just hang there (though i doubt its the app's fault).

Acquisition works pretty well for me, but recently I have tried Acqlite and i think Acquisition and it's nagware has taken second place now to this freeware alternative.
