I run MacOS X on a PowerMac/PowerBook, my colleague runs Windows XP on a PC.

I have iSight installed, including the beta of iChat AV. I will go for Panther as soon as it's available, need some of the new features desperately.

How could be enable audio or audio/video chat between the two systems? Has anyone got iChat AV to work with any Windows client? Any clients that would be available for both MacOS X and Windows XP?

I believe that iVisit will do what you want. Also yahoo messenger, but I think the frame rate is pretty low. There have been a few threads on this, but not much feedback by people who've actually tried it.

I'm waiting for my brother in law back in england to sort out his video cam so I can try this with my isight.

Let us know how you get on.

If you just need audio, try Netfone:

http://www.haxial.com/products/netfone/

Works with Windows and the Mac and can be used in the background without problems, e.g. to chat while a full-screen network game is running.
