This morning I was using Flash MX 2004 to work on a project and all was fine, so I close out the app and 5 hours later boot it up... it won't even get to the splash screen.

I get the app to the point RIGHT before the splash and it simply hangs. I've deleted all the pref files, no go... I've even deleted the app and reinstalled the WHOLE app from the CD, no go.

My question is, is there ANYTHING I can do to remedy this annoying situation? I have to finish this project.

Thanks!

I ended up calling Macromedia, the problem was traced down to a corrupted folder (Macrovision) in the App Support and Preferences folders. Apparently this is a new issue as the guy was writing down the steps in his notebook for entry into the help database.

Macrovison? Isn't that the new-fangled MX 04 product activation thingy that does strange things anyway?

Great, another potential source of trouble. Maybe it's this constant polling of product activation that slows Dreamweaver to a crawl?
