I imported some quicktime files into iMovie and there was no sound for any of the clips. But when I play the files in regular quicktime, they have sound. Why can't I import the files to iMovie and have sound? Does it always take the sound off?
are the files mpg? quicktime can't export the audio of mpg files for whatever reason, and iMovie uses quicktime to import files. You can get the audio by (1) demuxing with bbDemux and (2) decoding the mp2 (bbdemux wants to call it m1a. don't let it) with madplaywrap

Thanks this is really helpful, but what is bbDemux? Do i run these on the quicktime files before importing them to iMovie?
