i'm trying to download stuff, i can't get it to work, the thing at the lower right says somethings downloading but when i check my downloads everythings stalled

the status of my downloads dont update right either

Two thoughts:

a) wait a while. (Seriously.)

b) does it work if you switch off the firewall in the "Sharing" pane of the System Preferences?

In case of b), you need to open ports for the services you wish to use.

You can check in the mlMac advanced (or network or something) preferences to see which services require which ports to be open.
