I've deleted the Norton Systemworks programs from my Applications but for some odd reason they still exist somewhere on my computer.

Everytime I dowload something Norton Anti-Virus pops up. I've run several searches on possible left-over files in Finder and NOTHING ever shows up.

Even stranger is that in System Preferences on the last line called "Other" three different Norton elements still sit: Auto-Protect, FileSaver, and Quickmenu

Any suggestions on how to locate these files and desintigrate them once and for all?

Thanks

I had to go through the whole ordeal of logging in under "root" to delete certain files... then it took me FOREVER to find where these System Preferences (listed under "Other") were stored, as they did NOT have the name Norton on the actual file, though of course they did on the icon itself. Of course, they weren't located where all the other icons for System Preferences were.

It's times like this that "The Missing Manual" is indispensible. Speaking of, I wonder how out-of-date my $25 book will be once I install Panther.

Now the only thing I can't get rid of (and is MAJORLY annoying) is an ! Altert ! sign after restarting my computer that reads:

Norton AntiVirus Error

Norton AntiVirum AutoProtect could not continue. Please reinstall Norton AntiVirus and restart.

I don't know what else to do -- this has consummed way too much time. EVIL, EVIL, EVIL COMPANY SYMANTEC!!!

Where in my files can this alert file be?
