I have done a search, but I could not find anything useful to solve this problem.

I had to ship in my PowerBook for service, and I am using a PowerMac now to check my email. I set up Mail with my accounts to check my email messages. I have a Yahoo account.

Mail started downloading my messages, then suddenly it stopped after the 28th one. It would download any more. It downloaded onlye the old messages too, and left the new ones on the server. I keep hitting the Get Mail button, but nothing is happening.

In the activity window for a short time it shows up that it is trying to Fetch my messages (1 of 160), but then it just stops the process and sits idle.
I have no problems with any other account (I have a different IMAP account).

I tried to remove the Yahoo account, and then re-adding it, but that is a no go as well.

Thanks,

t

t_hah, I have a thread on this very problem here -- although it doesn't offer much help.

Right now I am getting most of my messages downloaded, but it seems to choke on either attachments in general, or attachments of more than a couple of hundred kilobytes. When it chokes, it seems to not d/l anything beyond that choking message. Once that message is removed, it picks up again. Doesn't always choke, either. Very annoying!

Isn't there a webmail interface that you could use to delete the suspicious e-mails?

Yes, at least for Yahoo. But these emails aren't especially suspicious or offensive. Entourage has no problem with them. That fact, plus the frequency of the problem leads me to conclude that this is a problem peculiar to Mail.

Hopefully, won't be a problem in Panther. Only 10 more days to find out.
