Hello I am a new mac user and I am having trouble resetting Preview as the default application to open PDF files.
I had downloaded the latest Adobe Reader 6.0 and when It asked me if I wanted to set it as the default reader I checked yes. I kind of liked adobe reader until I found out it took a good 1/2 hr to print a 24 pg document and the printouts were all scrambled and unreadable. Then I wanted to reset the default application but I dont have a clue how to do it.
Btw, I thought I Had deleted Adobe Reader from the Applications folder last night, but apparently it's there in my computer because this morning it launched again when I tried to open a PDF file. How do I completely remove adobe reader??

THank you for your time.

Select a pdf file and do a "Get info" on it. In the get info window there as a section called "open with" . Select Preview as the default app there and press the Change all button.

Voila.
