SimpleText is the last os9 application that I still use on a daily basis.

I use it for basic html code.. and for writing quick notes, or holding large blocks of text.

I like it better than TextEdit because TextEdit places all the graphics/photos in web and is a just generally not as easy to use as SimpleText.

Is there a SimpleText software aplication for os X?

You can download and install the Developer Tools. They include an OS X version of SimpleText.

in Preferences (for TextEdit) check "Ignore rich text commands in HTML files"

then you should be able to open up the html file as plain text (Format -> Make Plain Text)

I think that's what you want.
