I have been trying to block some Sherlock channels (eBay) and have had no luck at all. I have pinpointed Sherlock going out to the web and pulling a single .xml file from Apple that tells the application which channels to load; however, if I block that link, it blocks ALL channels and I don't want that.

Better yet, I've tried to get rid of the eBay icons and everything out of Sherlock; however, that too is loaded information from that .xml file...

Any ideas?

it should be possible to make a modified file which your computer serves from it's apache (same directory structure). You can edit your /etc/hosts file to tell your computer that all requests to (server) go to localhost.

the file's format is
(source) (target)

Some parts of apple's website may not work after this if they are hosted on the same server.

Hmm, very interesting idea...I'll play around with that and see how it goes.

Thanks!
