My "Login Items" list has the following two items, both set to "Hide":

N067U_ButtonManager
N124U_ButtonManager

I assume these are the listeners for the scanner buttons (Copy, Email, Scan), but why do I need two?

I seem to recall this was a problem, but it isn't seeming to be causing me problems. Nevertheless, I'm trying to clean up my system and remove anything that is unnecessary.

Try quitting one at a time in Process Manager, then hit a button on the scanner, and see which app actually does something. Or maybe you need both.

I only needed one of them for mine, and I assume the same will be true for you (but, YMMV).

See which one is spitting out annoying messages in the Console about not being able to find its device. That's the one you don't need.
