I'm wondering if anyone could possibly point me to a trading analysis/execution package that is compatible with the Bear Stearns Securities service. I'm working my way into the stock market, and my mentor is partial to Tradestation software, which runs on Bear Stearns. Unfortunately, I don't have a machine capable of VPC, and even if I did I've heard Tradestation may not run acceptably. I really don't wish to purchase a PC, but it may have to come to that unless I can find another solution. Google searches haven't been very helpful. If anyone knows of Bear Stearns compatible trading software, please let me know ASAP. (If someone does help me, if/when I'm successful I may well send some funds their way as a thank you!)

The only financial software that I found that works on a Mac is called Investor/RT. The site is confusing I don't know if it supports Bear Stearns Securities.

Yes, I have seen Investor/RT, as well as another package named Behold. But both of these programs' websites aren't that helpful and don't really inspire too much confidence.

What kind of compatibility do you need? I don't know what you really need. Tradestation is nice enough, but what do you really need to do? Do you need fast access on NYSE/AMEX/CBOE/NYMEX? Or are you looking at trade data for charting?
I suggest Tradestation on a cheap PC which you can access over RDC (free Microsoft app) That would be a very good way if VPC is not an option. And beyond Investor R/T, I don't know of anything else off the top of my head.
If you are going to make a living at this, get a cheap headless PC, install Tradestation, network it to your Mac and use MS Remote Desktop Connection to connect to. I have seen cheap 400-500mhz PC's for next to nothing.

Thank you for your input, BTP. I actually was thinking of going the route you suggested - a cheap PC with RDC. The only problem is, I would feel so very dirty buying a PC. So, so very dirty. I think I need to take a shower now.

Lot's of us have Windows boxes. It's cool. I can still touch my kids without my windows box stealing a soul or two. The kids are healthy. RELAX, Buy a cheap Windows box. Use your Mac when you want to. Simple, EH..
