I have been using Xchat but for some reason it won't accept any dcc file transfers, is there a better program, one that will actually work? is it a port thing on my router? if anyone has a simple solution or a simple IRC chat program that is good at receiving dcc file sends that would be great, i read a thread where someone said that "bla bla" is the closest to mirc and the best on the mac, but it was not one i had heard of and i have since forgotten what that person said

Do you have your firewall enabled? Does that affect DCC transfers?

I use Snak and it works with dcc. Others use Ircle and swear by it. They both will accept dcc files xfers.

Snak has to be the ugliest, putrid, unintuative, overpriced piece of crap that has been carbonated in the sharware world.

However it does handle dcc transfers painlessly in my experience. To bad the rest of the app sucks so hard.

xchat does allow dcc transfers but it is rather difficult to use since your dcc commands must be given in the general window, not the #channel window. Odd that.

Ircle I have never used. So no comment there.

I use Ircle and have no problems with DCC file transfers. In fact, that's why I started using IRC.

I'll second the Ircle recommendation. I've been using it since the Mac OS 8 days. Still a good app (though the Carbonization could use a little work).

I use Snak.

Only problem being that I can never get dcc downloads to resume - anyone help me with that?

I use iRC. Works as good as ol' mIRC for Windows.
