I would like iPhoto to allow common Libraries.
Similar to iCal where you can check the calendars you want to view.

UserA photoLib1
UserB photoLib2
photoLibCommon

UserA would like to view photos owned by UserB (UserA wishes this as well)
UserB would like to view photos owned by UserA (UserA wishes this as well)
Bothe UserA and UserB would like to view a common library shared by all.

__ UserA Library
__ UserB Library
__ CommonLibrary
__ All Shared Libraries

This should work similar to iTunes sharing as well. Allow Users to specify what ALbums they want 'shared'.
Heck include 'rendezvous'...

Two Macs show all shared albums.

This is getting more awesome - as i tink about it.

If you'd like multiple users on the same machine to share iPhoto libraries, you can move the iPhoto Library folder (within the Pictures folder of your home folder) to a shared location, give everybody read and write permissions, and make symbolic links(*) to it from each user's home.

(*) A symbolic link is a Unix thing that works like an alias -- you'll have to create it from the terminal (or perhaps some third-party software). Here's how to do it, assuming you moved your iPhoto Library to the Shared folder (repeat for each user):
Code:
% ln -s "/Users/Shared/iPhoto Library" "/Users/myusername/Pictures/iPhoto Library"

I believe aliases work as well.

The advantage of aliases is that they are smarter, play a little better with network shares, and may be a little better for external drives.
