After importing my Entourage mail into OSX Mail on Panther, they all show up as being "unred" -- eg, the folders are all in boldface.

Is there a script anywhere that can mark ALL messages saved in any folder as 'read" ?? Otherwise I have to manually go through each folder and "mark all as read" -- not exactly a quick fix.

Also, does disabling the "index all decrypted messages" speed Mail up? What kept me away from it previously was that every time I changed mail folders, it would take a few seconds for Mail to "catch up" with my clicking into a new folder.

Not that I know of....but really, a quick "Select All" and Mark as Read isn't all that hard....I did my 10,000+ messages/10+ folders in a minute...

true. but a Select All only works within a folder. I've got like 30 folders, with subfolders in many, that show up as "unread"

I need to do that for each folder, I guess.

Yeah, I could see with having alot of embedded folders, where an option would be nice...

Just right click on the folder (or ctrl-click) and select "Mark All Messages as Read."

Edit - You can also select multiple folders by shift-clicking them, just like you would in the finder.
