What the hell is with Font Book?

Why when I remove a font from Font Book it put them in the trash? What the hell is that all about? Why would Apple do something so stupid like that?
I almost deleted most of my good fonts. Jeez!!!
Thats the dumbest thing I have ever seen in an app.

It's a font manager. Most people would expect a font to be removed when deleted from a program like that, just like iTunes deletes music files you delete from your library. Why would you want to remove them from Font Book anyway? It's not like FB does anything to them.

Dude but at least iTunes gives you the option to dump it to the trash or not.

when you add fonts to fontbook, it should copy your original fonts to your library, i would think it only deleted the copy of your font, not your original. Correct me if I'm wrong.

No it doesnt copy your original, it just moves your original to the library which is so dumb.

Try looking at the preferences. There is an option to copy fonts instead of moving them.
