If I boot my DW3 cd on my laptop which has Panther installed, each time it gives me a screen saying I must reboot.. over and over. There is also a FF:FF:FF:FF:FF at the bottom of this notice.
Thus I'm not able to use DW. Any suggestions? Do I need to create a new DW boot disk for Panther?

Not sure this helps but I have panther on my iBook and I can boot DW 3 and run the utility just fine.
This notice sounds like the famous "multi-language" Kernel Panic message.
I'm not at all sure why it should happen. Try reseting Open Firmware to see if that helps before booting from the CD again.

The error message is displayed in several languages, so maybe that is it? Although I'm fairly new to OS X, so it means nothing to me.
How do I reset the "Open Firmware" ?

Anyone else have an input on this error I'm getting? According to Alsoft, I should still be able to boot disk warrior from the CD

Disk warrior 3 boot just fine on my Panther. I'm using 17" Rev. A Powerbook. Not sure why you're having that kind of problem. This is why I like to do a clean install... I don't really have any of the problems that a lot of people here have after installing Panther.

from alsoft's website:
DiskWarrior 3.0 will not run while started up under Mac OS X v. 10.3 (Panther). DiskWarrior 3.0 can be used to safely rebuild the directory of a disk (including a disk with file journaling and/or FileVault enabled) with Mac OS X v. 10.3 by starting up from your current DiskWarrior 3.0 CD. An update allowing DiskWarrior to run while started from Mac OS X v. 10.3 is forthcoming; we currently estimate that the update will be available in mid-November. This update will be able to start up all machines available at the time of its release, including PowerMac G5 machines, PowerBook models updated September 2003, eMac models updated October 2003, and the iBook G4.
Please note that the current version of the DiskWarrior CD cannot be used to start up PowerMac G5 machines, PowerBook models updated September 2003, eMac models updated October 2003, or the iBook G4.
