This is a nice combo with Panther.

A new version of Firebird: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/

A theme that actually looks OK (the author is making a new version with different icons and a Panther look) http://kmgerich.com/pinstripe/beta.html

New version for Mac OS X (0.7.1) is actually pretty good and corrects many bugs.

I might just make it my default browser. It is faster than OmniWeb, which I also like.

I just downloaded the latest version of Firebird the other night and...holy crap, is it fast!! I mean, it's way faster than Safari or Camino. Ridiculously fast. Insanely fast. I don't even care about the non-Aqua elements, like the drop-down menu arrows and square buttons just beneath the text box in which I'm typing now...I just can't get enough of this SPEED!

Firebird is my new favorite browser. Seriously, I'm amazed.

It is a very nice browser. I've been a fan of the Mozilla project for a while. They make excellent products and they're free! Thunderbird is great...better than Mail.app in some respects, and Firebird is maturing nicely. I'm thinking Firebird might replace Camino as my new backup. I don't notice the huge speed gains you noticed, but it is very comparable on to Safari on my PB. And with the Pinstripe theme for Firebird, it makes the browser much more OS X-like. Kudos to the whole development team and the theme maker.
