Flakey in what way? I haven't had any problems yet.

flakey in that it would only work intermittantly. Clicking especially, rarely seemed to actaully perform it's specified function.

Perhaps I'll clean it all out searching for any remnant and resinstall if it's working smoohtly for you.

Thanks for the reply.

I can confirm the flakiness. Odd things like it will lower my volume but then refuse to turn it back up (yes, I checked my settings. ), and other oddities.

Seems to have affected my Wacom tablet too. I can use the pen to move the mouse, but Ink doesn't register it. Ah, the price of early adoption.

Just bought a powermate and whilst i can get it to adjust the volume without any problems i can't get it to retain any actions in other programmes, e.g if when using safari i set the powermate to control scrolling i have to open system prefs and reset the action each time i open safari. Basically it doesn't seem to be retaining any presets. I'm using 10.3.2. Any ideas?

make sure you are running the latest version of driver. also check out what other USB peripherals you are using, in case they are causing the problem.

I've got the latest driver 1.5.1 and the powermate is plugged in via a 4 port USB hub, would that make a difference?
I'll try swapping things around and powering the hub to see if that helps. In the hub i've got the powermate, two printers and the keyboard/mouse. The two USB ports on my iMac have the hub and soundsticks.

I've now tried plugging the powermate in in a variety of ways and powering up my hub. I've also reinstalled the software deleted prefs etc and still i can't get it to work when switching between applications e.g i'm scrolling in safari then when i switch to check an e-mail i can't scroll using the powermate in mail. The only way i can do this is prior to switching say between safari and mail i go to sys prefs select mail then go to mail but then i can't go straight back to safari without first going to sys prefs and selecting safari and yes i am pressing the apply now button.
I've sent an e-mail to Griffin, but at present i have a £45 volume knob that pulses!
Am i doing something wrong i've checked the manual, all i want to do at present is use it for scrolling in mail/safari/preview/word etc.
