We are a bunch in the Apple discussion boards to have the same problem. The iSight camera isn't seen anymore by the iChat (Panther) program. It's quite annoying how no one from Apple never says anything interesting or helpfull in those boards.

Does anyone here have this problem or had it and fixed it ?

Did all the usual things..
Logged out
Restarted
reset open firmware
Unplugged then replugged the iSight
I couldn't unistall then re install iChat cause the beta isn't around anymore and I couldn't find where it was on the disks...

So I'm stuck.. !!!

I have heard of one or 2 stories where peoples iSight cams have stopped working after the QT 6.4 updates or after installing 10.3
I recommended to at least one that he re-installs iChat, so that the iSight driver would be installed again also (The cams driver is amongst the iChat installer package) and sure enough the iSight camera worked again.
So it seems the iSight driver is known to go missing on occasion.
I can only suggest you ask around and see if anyone has the original iChat AV beta installer.
Good luck!

PS, and yes I sometimes wonder why Apple bother having a discussion forum when no one from Apple is ever seen to be using it.

Well, would be a bit of a pain to re-install 10.3 just to get your camera working again.. But thats about all I can think of for now.
There is an app available via version tracker called "Pacifist" which can extract individual installers from CD's, like for example OS CD's. BUT, this is currently waiting to be updated so that it will work properly with 10.3
Shame because that might have been just the ticket!
Failing all that.. Try to find out where the iSight driver should be located, and perhaps get someone to send it to you, and install it manually.

Well, talked to apple Tech support and they had me change my firewire cable et voila. My iSight worked. It was the Apple logo firewire cable that somehow stopped working. Never would have thought of it.
