I'm looking for a program that will do one-page stuff like posters, wine labels, etcetera. I usually use Photoshop Elements 2.0. Some things bug me about it. It's Carbon, so you can't get the Font Panel. Also ligatures are not readily available like they are in TextEdit, and I like to be creative when using fonts. Same beef with Word and AppleWorks. How good are some of the open source apps for this? Any other recommendations?

Not sure if this is suitable. But you could try RgaTime Solo which is now free.
