I got my copy as well. So far the biggest change I've noticed is that the file browser stays open when you select a photo or switch apps. It used to drive me bonkers that the browser window would close just because I went to check an e-mail or something. Also, the browser itself used to be very buggy for me and would crash when I tried to scroll through folders with lots of images. Seems stable now. Thanks, Adobe!

I do have to agree with those who say the new features here don't really qualify this as a full point upgrade. 7.5 would be more like it. And I don't much care for the new icon. A feather on a white square?! I replaced it with the one from PS 7.

Please post the application icon at 128 x 128 size.

Edit:

Thanks.

I don't like it. And as usual it doesn't follow Apple's guidelines.

What are the additions? Is it faster? Is it more stable? I know there's the file browser improvements and text on a path which is LONG overdue, but what else?

From Adobe's web site it doesn't seem like this is a worth wild update. I might wait for v9 or 10 the way Adobe seems to be updating, no more .5s anymore.

Photoshop CS launches alot faster, quits faster and is generally faster overall. Feels so much better than 7.

Probably should have been a .5 release but its certainly an improvement.

I was wondering if it installs as a single app or does it litter your directories with adobe files as usual.

It installed a Adobe Photoshop CS folder in the applications folder which contains:
Adobe ImageReady CS
Adobe Photoshop CS
Help (Folder)
Helpers (Folder)
Legal (Folder)
Photoshop CS ReadMe
Plug-Ins (Folder)
Presets (Folder)
Samples (Folder)
Scripting Guide (Folder)
Third Party License.pdf

Plus a load of stuff in application support.

Dang! I was really hoping Adobe would go the route of Acrobat Pro and do a single icon for the whole package. But I guess that would create problems with plug-ins and such. I think it would be cool if they could have it so if you drag and drop, say a plug-in, on the Photoshop icon, it would recognize it's a plug in and install it for you. Maybe in 9.0

Plug-Ins belong into the Application Support folder.

I went ahead and splurged. I upgrade to Adobe Creative Suite Premium. 6 programs install from 2 discs. Everything but Acrobat and Distiller get new icons. So far, everything appears to run okay on Panther. I can post screenshots if you guys want to see anything in particular.

Have you seen my pants?
